14th August 2024 | The Music School Bangalore, Bangalore
Some days at The Music School Bangalore are memorable. Some are significant. And some, rare ones, change everything. The 14th of August 2024 was one of those days. On the eve of India's Independence Day, two things happened at TMSB that the institution had been building toward for years, and they happened on the same day, as if the universe had decided they belonged together.
Over thirty students walked across a stage to receive internationally accredited qualifications that will open doors for them across the world. And that stage, The TMSB Stage, was being inaugurated for the very first time.
A stage born. A generation of musicians certified. One extraordinary day. Over Thirty Students. Three Levels. A Moment Sixteen Years in the Making.

The graduation brought together over thirty students who had completed TMSB's Pro Course programs across Level 3, Level 4, and Level 5, the full arc of TMSB's professional music education pathway, from foundational certification to Associate Degree level.
These were not participation certificates. Every qualification earned that day was regulated under the OFQUAL framework, the same body that governs A Levels and undergraduate degrees in the United Kingdom. Rigorous. Internationally recognised. Respected by universities and employers across four continents.
For each of those thirty plus students, the moment they held that certificate was the culmination of months, in some cases years, of demanding, disciplined, industry level study in Music Production, Audio Engineering, Music Composition, and Music Performance. They had done what most people only talk about. They had committed to music as a profession. They had met an international standard. And they had done it right here, in Bangalore.
The Music School Bangalore (TMSB) Stage; Born on 14th August 2024
But the graduation was only half the story. And arguably the smaller half.
Because on the same afternoon that over thirty students received their qualifications, The The Music School Bangalore (TMSB) Stage came into existence, inaugurated for the first time and immediately put to exactly the use it was built for.
This was not a renovation. This was not an upgrade. This was a beginning!
The TMSB Stage was brand new; a purpose built professional live performance space equipped with a Digico S 21 console, a professional sound system, stage lighting, and a fog machine. Compact but immaculate. Intimate but uncompromisingly professional. Built from the ground up with one purpose: to give TMSB's students the experience of performing on a real professional stage without leaving campus. Walk onto The TMSB Stage and you feel it immediately. The light changes. The sound wraps around you differently. The fog rolls in. The console glows. And suddenly you are not a student in a music school anymore. You are a performer on a stage.
That is what The TMSB Stage was built to do. And it did it on its very first day.
For an institution that has always believed the stage is as important as the studio, that a musician is not truly educated until they have stood under lights and faced an audience, the launch of The TMSB Stage was a defining moment. Not just a facility. A philosophy made physical.
Three Distinguished Guests Who Made the Day Complete
The significance of the occasion demanded guests of equal significance. And TMSB delivered exactly that, three individuals whose careers, expertise, and connection to music at the highest level made them the perfect witnesses to both milestones.
Jeoraj Stanley George, Renowned Drummer
Jeoraj Stanley George is one of India's most accomplished and respected drummers, a musician whose career is a masterclass in what happens when world-class training meets world class talent.
Having studied at Drumtech in London, one of the UK's leading drum schools, founded in 1983, and now part of the BIMM group, Jeoraj brought back to India a standard of drumming rooted in the finest contemporary tradition. His performing career has seen him share stages and studios with some of the most iconic names in Indian music, including the legendary K.J. Yesudas and the incomparable A.R. Rahman. That is not a career. That is a legacy.
For TMSB's graduating students, many of them aspiring performers and session musicians, having Jeoraj Stanley George in the room on the day they received their qualifications was both an honour and a challenge. A reminder of what is possible. And a glimpse of where dedication can take you.
Naveen Ujire; Renowned Sound Engineer
Naveen Ujire is one of Bangalore's most respected sound engineers, a professional who has built a career at the highest level of India's music and entertainment industry across studio recording, live sound, and audio production.
For TMSB's Audio Engineering graduates, his presence carried a particular weight. He was not an academic or a theorist. Here was a working professional who had spent his career doing exactly what they were now qualified to do, mixing, engineering, shaping sound in real studios and on real stages for real artists. His presence was a living answer to the question every audio engineering student eventually asks: does any of this lead somewhere It does. And Naveen Ujire is the proof.
Priyan, Head of Business Development for South India, RSL Awards India
As Head of Business Development for South India at RSL Awards India, Priyan represents one of TMSB's most significant institutional relationships, the partnership that makes TMSB the only RSL VQ Delivery and Assessment Centre in India. His presence at the graduation was not ceremonial. It was a recognition, from RSL itself, that the qualifications being handed to TMSB's students that day were the real thing. Internationally accredited. Globally respected. Carrying the full weight of one of the United Kingdom's most trusted music qualification bodies behind every certificate.

The Moment the Stage Came to Life
A new stage needs a first performance. And TMSB had the perfect performers ready.
The TMSB Stage was inaugurated with live music from the students who had just graduated, musicians taking to a professional stage for the first time, under professional lights, in front of an audience of family, faculty, distinguished guests, and fellow students who understood exactly what the moment meant. The Digico S 21 console hummed.
The lights came up. The fog rolled across the stage floor. And the music began.
It was the best possible beginning for a stage that would go on to host Friday Live Drive every week, TMSB Open Stage every month, and countless performances that would change the lives of the students who stood on it. Every great stage has a first night. This was The TMSB Stage's. And it was everything it should have been.
A Statement from the Founder
Milton Lance, Founder and Director of The Music School Bangalore, reflected on what the 14th of August 2024 represented:
"This was one of the proudest days in TMSB's history. Over thirty students graduating with internationally recognised qualifications, and a brand new stage to perform on, for the first time, on the same day. The TMSB Stage was something we had been working toward for a long time. The fact that it came to life alongside our graduation, with Jeoraj, Naveen, and Priyan present to witness it, made the occasion truly special. These students earned everything they received that day. And this stage will carry their music, and the music of every student who comes after them, for many years to come. "
What the 14th of August 2024 Really Meant
Independence Day Eve. A generation of musicians certified. A stage born.
TMSB has always believed that music education is about two things above all else, the qualification that opens doors, and the stage that gives you the confidence to walk through them. On the 14th of August 2024, both arrived at once.
