11th November 2024 | The Music School Bangalore, Bangalore
The Music School Bangalore (TMSB) announced a formal academic partnership with Singapore Raffles Music College (SRMC) in November 2024, establishing a structured collaboration between two internationally connected contemporary music institutions and signing a 2+1 progression agreement that creates a direct pathway for TMSB students from Bangalore to Singapore.

The Visit
On 11th November 2024, TMSB welcomed Ryan Goh, Executive Director of Singapore Raffles Music College, alongside Andy Koh, Gary, and Jerry to its campus in Bangalore. The delegation travelled from Singapore to meet TMSB's leadership, experience the institution firsthand, and formalise the terms of the partnership.
The visit allowed SRMC's representatives to engage directly with TMSB's faculty, facilities, and student community, and confirmed the institutional alignment that had made this partnership a natural next step for both institutions.
Milton Lance, Founder and Director of The Music School Bangalore, commented on the occasion:
"This collaboration is more than just sharing knowledge, it is about pushing boundaries, sparking creativity, and creating meaningful experiences for our students and faculty. Together, we are building something that will shape the future of music education."

The 2+1 Progression Agreement
At the heart of the TMSB-SRMC partnership is a formally signed 2+1 progression agreement. Under this agreement, TMSB students who complete the Level 5 Associate Degree in Music are eligible to progress directly to the final year of the B Mus (Hons) Recording and Performance program at Singapore Raffles Music College, carrying every credit earned in Bangalore with them. Two years at TMSB in Bangalore. One final year at SRMC in Singapore. A world class Bachelor's degree at the conclusion of the journey.
About Singapore Raffles Music College
Singapore Raffles Music College is a contemporary music institution based in Singapore offering internationally recognised programs in music performance, recording, and production. Singapore's position as a regional hub for arts, culture, and business makes it a strategically valuable study destination for Indian music students seeking to build careers within Asia's creative industries.
Scope of the Partnership
Beyond the 2+1 progression agreement, the collaboration encompasses a broader framework of educational exchange:
Teacher and Student Exchange Programs: creating structured opportunities for faculty and students from both institutions to engage with each other's campuses and communities.
Workshops and Masterclasses: facilitating the delivery of workshops by SRMC faculty at TMSB and providing TMSB faculty with access to SRMC's professional development programs.
International Student Collaborations: establishing frameworks for joint creative projects between TMSB and SRMC students.
Networking and Industry Opportunities: connecting TMSB's graduates to SRMC's network of industry professionals and alumni across Asia.
The Role of AIM, Rupert Johnstone, and Atul Sondhi: The Australian Institute of Music played a meaningful role in facilitating the connection between TMSB and SRMC. Rupert Johnstone and Atul Sondhi were recognised for their support in making this collaboration possible, a reflection of the trust and relationships that sit at the
heart of TMSB's international academic network.
TMSB's Growing International Academic Network
The TMSB - SRMC partnership extended TMSB's international academic reach to four continents, joining existing partnerships with BIMM University across the UK, Germany, and Ireland; the Australian Institute of Music in Sydney and Melbourne; and Musicians Institute in Hollywood, California. Together, these partnerships give TMSB students formally signed progression pathways to institutions in the UK, Australia, the USA, and Asia, all accessible from a single campus in Bangalore.
