The Music School Bangalore (TMSB) was honoured with the National Leadership Award for Best Music School in Bangalore in April 2019, a recognition that affirmed what TMSB's students, faculty, and community had long believed: that the institution had set a new standard for music education in the city.

The award, presented by Orpit Services, acknowledged TMSB's commitment to excellence in contemporary music education, its world class facilities, and its unwavering dedication to producing musicians who are genuinely prepared for professional careers in music.

Recognition That Reflected a Decade of Work

By April 2019, TMSB had been quietly building something extraordinary for over a decade.

Founded in 2008 by Milton Lance with a vision to create an institution that could stand alongside the finest contemporary music schools in the world, TMSB had spent eleven years investing in every dimension of music education, from acoustically treated studios and industry standard equipment to a faculty of working music professionals and a curriculum designed to meet the highest international standards.

The National Leadership Award was the formal acknowledgement of that work. A recognition not just of what TMSB had built, but of what it represented for music education in Bangalore, and in India.

What Set TMSB Apart

At the time of the award, TMSB had already established itself as one of Bangalore's most respected contemporary music institutions  offering training in guitar, drums, piano, vocals, bass, music production, and audio engineering to students ranging from absolute beginners to serious professionals.

The April 2019 award came at a significant moment in TMSB's institutional journey. Just two months later, in June 2019, TMSB would go on to achieve an even more historic milestone, becoming the only institution in India authorised to both deliver and assess RSL Vocational Qualifications.

Together, these two milestones in 2019 marked a turning point- the moment TMSB's reputation moved decisively beyond Bangalore and began to establish itself on a national and international stage.

Six years after receiving the National Leadership Award for Best Music School in Bangalore, TMSB continues to uphold and build upon the standard that earned that recognition.

Today TMSB stands as one of India's most internationally connected contemporary music institutions, the only RSL VQ Delivery and Assessment Centre in India, with credit transfer partnerships to four world class international universities and a community of alumni building careers in music across the globe.
